I have my first problem... My PC have 3 cameras attached on it!!! I can not detach none of them (sorry). d-touch selects only one (every time the same one). How can i switch between them? Please tell me if i have to post my remarks on another thread. |

yes, can you open another thread on the drum-machine specific forum? anyway i have to check if it's possibile to select one specific camera, on mac it's possibile via graphical interface, i'll look if it's possibile on win with some configuration. stay tuned ;) thanks for the feedback!! |

D-Touch Drum Machine is AWESOME. Everyone in this house has now put together a radio-worthy beat by pushing little scraps of paper around under a webcam. |

How long has this project been running? I'm already purchasing a webcam especially for this, I only found out yesterday and I am really excited. I want to use this for a school project. |

the first run of the drum machine was 6 years ago! Now it has been partially rewritten and improved, also in design, if you are really interested write us at info@d-touch.org we can collaborate! |

Hey Gidskid, Thanks for the feedback! If you buy a webcam especially for this, I'd suggest to get one of those that we tested. Are you on windows or mac? Enrico |

I tried it and I think it's really promising. Had some problem setting the lighting (some beat inputs skipped) but still quite impressive. I will try to improve my setup and experiment a bit with velcro... Will keep you posted. Beesh |

Well I'm a Windows user on my desktop but run ubuntu on my laptop. I also DJ and Linux is very very useful for that. I would have bought one of the ones you'd tested if I'd read the page properly, but my Dad just bought me one so I'll have to wait and see. Can I try and get my music teacher hooked on this? I'd like to use the drum machine as a performance tool in a school concert! |

Gidskid if you try and get your music teacher hooked on this you'll make us super happy! :-) We always believed that low-cost tangible interfaces could be good in schools, so we would love to see that happening! Enrico |

Beesh, thanks for the feedback! From our experience the best light is soft ambient, not direct on the interface (e.g. not strong spot light or desk lamp on the board). Please share your experience with that here.. Thanks, Enrico |

Great Project! I would love some Midi-connectivity tho. Maybe I find some free time this summer to look into the code ;) |

What a great Idea. I like anything that democratizes technology and creative tools. I tried to get the drum machine running on my wife's Mac last night, but got and error and crashed when I tried to activate it. I'll try again this weekend and tell you how it goes. |

How far out is the linux support? It looks like a great project and I would love to use it. |

I think this project is great, it just put this kind of interaction readily available under our fingertips, literally!, which in the long term encourages us to try to develop something with the library itself. It's easy and it's really fun. All other examples of similar technologies involved being a computer genius and the step by step instructions are just pain awesome for everyone, this is the right way to do this kind of things, by making them available and enjoyable to everyone. |

err sorry, I meant "...just pLain awesome". like you've already figured out... any way to edit posts? |
